The archaeoastronomy in Colombia.

The discipline of archaeoastronomy has had a recent development in Colombia. The pioneer investigations in the field were made by the archaeologists Gerardo Reichel Dolmatoff (1978), Eliécer Silva Celis (1981) and Héctor llanos (1995). Later on, the antropologists Arturo Izquierdo (1998) and Juan D Morales (2003) have done archaeoastronomical investigations in San Agustín and in the Cundiboyacense highlands respectively. Also Harry Marriner and Pedro Jaramillo have written about the Muisca Area.

In the historical aspect is important to take account of the manuscripts of Jose Domingo Duquesne about the Muisca astronomy. (1795)
